In the world of luxury watches, Rolex has always been synonymous with timeless elegance, precision, and innovation. As we approach 2025, the brand is set to unveil a significant upgrade to its iconic packaging design, further enhancing the unboxing experience for its discerning clientele. This evolution reflects Rolex’s commitment to excellence, not only in its timepieces but also in every detail that surrounds them.

1. Outer Box

Rolex has ditched the old cream-colored outer box, and introduced a new outer box design that features its signature green and a gold foil stamped crown logo. It has been refined to exude a more sophisticated and luxurious feel.
2. Inner Box

Similar with the previous design, the inner box also features the wave shaped design on top, but this time it has been upgraded to a more pronounced look. The biggest difference would be the use of straight lines and sharp angles in the new packaging, alongside with the new crown logo position.
3. Back Latch and Sustainability Details

One of the most notable changes is the new latch at the back. The new brass/gold back latch is no longer covered by a single piece of leather and can be seen clearly at the back.
At the bottom of the new box, it shows the word “ECO” and also the environmental friendly material that has been used, such as sustainable plywood, recycled cardboard and recycled leather.
The materials used have also been enhanced, prioritizing sustainability and durability, in line with Rolex’s ongoing efforts to minimize its environmental impact.
4. Interior Design

The frame of the inner box is slightly slimmer than the old box. Keeping the cream coloured lining, the new box no longer slopes toward the center around the watch pillow; instead, it slopes more steeply from the top to the bottom.
The new box’s interior flap no longer has a semicircular hole to open. Instead, it features an end-to-end horizontal space. Some people find it harder to open, what do you think?
The changes in new box does not affect the overall practicality, but it is more of a reflection of Rolex’s dedication to environmental protection and sustainability.
As we know, Rolex has teamed up with Leonardo DiCaprio, a well-known advocate for environmental causes, as their newest brand ambassador to strengthen this eco-friendly image.
